Drummond Castle has one of the most spectacular driveways up to the castle itself. Well worth walking back from the carpark to enjoy it fully. There is a lovely carpark with picnic tables and modern toilet facilities.Dogs are welcome into the castle grounds on a lead. There is a new woodland walk from where you can have a great view of the castle itself. If you are lucky the peacocks will be strutting round the garden. Santa comes at Christmas and the Castle re-opens for the occasion (booking necessary) Unfortunately the grounds do not open before 1pm which is a pity as they probably look their best in the morning light. No drones allowed in grounds.
Its gardens are as perfect as Versailles'. You have to pay 6 pounds just to see the gardens. The castle is private so entrance is not allowed. It has a nice pic nic area by the parking lot.

So interesting, we have to make sure that everytime we visit our family in the area that we take time to visit.
Extraordinary time exploring the historic library and archive - what an adventure in history. We were regaled with numerous stories by the Librarian and Keeper of Books, and enjoyed opportunities to handle some of the oldest materials in the collection. Here you can turn the pages of the King James pulpit bible from the year it was sent to all the churches in Scotland. Here you can view the earliest cottage garden advice books. Here your library-loving heart will find a resting place. Hours and days are limited so check carefully - you won't want to miss this!
